Cricut 360 Challenge #5 Travel

Our challenge today at cricut360.blogspot.com was Travel since so many people are traveling now, trying to squeeze that vacation in before the kids go back to school. We could use any cartridge and should have something like planes, trains, ships etc. in it.

I chose to use "pack your bags" (have I told you I love this cartridge!) You have seen it used alot with my projects because honestly I don't own a ton of cartridges (roughly 45) so I have a limited resource of items to use. If I would have had Campin critters (which is so on my wish list) I would have used that cartridge)

The overall project measures 6" High to the little tab puller to the bottom. It is 4" wide.

I can provide the instructions for making this project to anyone that wants them. I'm moving so I am doing projects ahead and won't have all that done here right now but would be happy to send to you.

Don't forget to click pictures for larger view. I took these three and put together so you can see how it works. Bottom is a completely done picture.

I cut the phrase at 2" and inked it with a silver colorbox ink and then went over that with some copper just to give it a shimmery aged look. The embellishments on the front are from K & Company (love there little embellishments!)

The ship was cut at 4" and I inked it with my usual chestnut brown but then used a silver along the black portion of the ship and then copper again to get that aged metal look. I inked the water and the smoke with the same. I added a little net to the side just for that nautical feel. The paper the ship is on is "Fancy Pants" beach bum. It has water and fishys on it so I thought very fitting. The pattern paper on the top is from Cosmo cricket "girl friday" and the brads at the top are all bo bunny brads. I hope you like the project. A friend of mine sent me the cutest card made like this so I sit down and figured out how she made it and started making them. I love these tag/cards!

Moving! Will be MIA for a few days!

Well my time in florida is coming to an end. We moved here about 2 and a half years ago (all our family lives in indiana and we lived there all our lives!) after my hubby retired. He wanted to be somewhere warm and now he is over it! The heat is just too much to take. I never feel like going anywhere and we both want to be back close to our families. My father suffered a heart attack and had triple bypass in April and I miss being close to him so I can savor every minute I can with him. My only daughter is in indiana too so I have never been this far away from her before. So we are moving back. Its sad to me alittle because I always get attached to my homes once I have been in them a bit. I will miss my pool and seeing my little baby jump in it all the time (coco for those of you who haven't seen the pictures or heard me talk about her) she loves the pool. They have never seen snow so not sure how they will deal with that. So you won't see me on for a few days.

CRICUT 360 CHALLENGE #4 LETS GET OUT OF THE CITY!

For this challenge we were to make a card or layout with the great outdoors, mountains, camping etc.
I chose to make a 12 x 12 layout. I really like the way it turned out. I did all the pieces on my imagine and I have tons of sheets from various sites with PDF's of RGB codes which I must say is SO helpful. You should print these off if you have an imagine and keep in a binder by your machine because its a lifesaver. I have codes from Stampin Up paper, Papertray ink as well as disney colors etc. I will try to gather up this information and post the links to these sites so if you own an imagine you will love this! It makes it nice when you are doing layers that you can have it all done in a jiffy!

I used the paper from K&Company called "On the road Postcard"
I used a cartridge I really haven't used since I bought it! Its a solutions cartridge so no layers just a simple mix of items. The cart is "Summer Vacation"
The phrase "Road Trip" was cut at 4" inked with Chestnut brown colorbox ink and pop dotted
The map was cut at 2.5"
The car and camper were cut at 2.5" I tried to add as much dimension as I could so I took the cutout from the inside window area of the camper and inked it and double pop dotted this so it stuck out even further than the camper itself which is pop dotted. I used glossy accents to fill the window area with
The car was pop dotted, inked with the chestnut brown and pop dotted as well and the windows filled with glossy accents. I use alot of glossy accents because I also use it as an adhesive alot of the times. Especially on little items.
The picture areas are both 3x4 with a slightly larger mat beneath them out of kraft paper. All inked with chestnut brown. I used the 1/4" corner chomper on the pieces for the picture area. I used Chocolate twine from the Twinery to just tie a little bow to put on the picture areas.
The little camp fire is cut at 2.5" as well. I cut it twice so that I could cut off the stick portion and layer this so I could make a good flame. I inked the flame with a burnt sienna. Cricut MINI oh MY!!!

WOW just when i thought that i wouldn't need to buy another cricut machine for a while (I have original E, E2 and Imagine) they are going to come out with this cute adorable little cricut mini!! Now this is something I'm surely going to need....right?! Just passing on a sneak peak from the cricut chirp!

Cricut 360 Challenge #3 Parents Day

CRICUT 360 DT CHALLENGE

I love my parents just like I'm sure (I hope) all you do. I decided to do a little card with one of my FAV carts "Car Decals" most people either love it or hate this cartridge and I for one LOVE it!! Here is the card and I will have all the goodies down below to tell you the sizes. I love Cosmo cricket papers so that is what I used on a couple spots. I used my new Cricut Expression 2 because I also used a preloaded cart "Cricut Essentials". I really am starting to use each and everyone of the three machines I have. I wasn't sure I would use my imagine much but I really am loving it. Especially some of the new carts they are coming out with are excellent and I have to tell you the printing a whole pattern page I really am loving that and that was the one thing I didn't really think I would utilize! Now I am buying quite a few of the pattern carts. Have you seen vintage papers or Berries and Cream...those are on my LONG wish list!!

 The background floral paper is Cosmo Cricket "Early Bird Brunch" 7.25 x 6" (So this isn't the typical sized card!)

***PS You all really should check out "Scenic Route" store online I got 50 sheets of double sided variety of Cosmo Cricket paper for like $7.99 plus shipping! I bought two of them because I love there paper and it was such a good buy. Lots of great mix of papers!!
The frame is from the cart "Cricut Essentials" cut at 7.25" in black paper (page 24)
The layer for the frame is cut with Kraft paper
The Label is from "Cricut Essentials" cut at 1.5" (page 26)
The Mom is from "Car Decals"  (page 35) cut at 3"

I inked the edges of the floral paper with Colorbox ink called Prussian Blue

I just found out I am moving and this is a sudden decision and happening so fast so my mind is in a million places. Its a 1000 mile move too so its alot of work to get this organized so at some point I won't have access to the internet or my craft supplies so I am working feverishly to get some projects done ahead of time. I will probably go nuts if I am without the internet even two days so lets keep our fingers crossed it won't be more than that or I will have MORE gray hairs!! Cricut 360 Challenge #2 Thank you card

Its the second challenge for the Cricut 360 blog and I'm sharing my project with you all. We were to make a round "thank you" card to thank all our followers of our blogs. I just ordered the imagine Teresa Collins baby boutique and got it and immediately made this card for the challenge. I had just gotten back from a relaxing week in Tennessee and needed to make something for the challenge so I got my imagine and went to working!

Here is the card:

I cut the first layer (scalloped edge) from stock images on the imagine at 6" and then inked the edges with Silver Color box ink.

The circle was cut from the stock images on my imagine at 5.2" and then I used the silver ink again.

I used pop dots between them for dimension.

The sign is 2 pieces from the Teresa Collins images. There were more layers because there was words that print out and I didn't want to use them so I just deleted the other images I didn't want. I pop dotted between the two layers. Then since I didn't have a thank you stamp I just printed it out and then pop dotted it on as well. I inked the edges of it with black ink.

I hope you liked this simple yet elegant card. I was alittle short on time this week since I had just gotten home from vacation and had one day to get something done. I have to admit I started one before I left but I guess I didn't pay attention to the fact it was suppose to be a thank you instead of another invite! So I have it done but couldn't use it!

Cricut 360 Challenge Invitation

This is our first design team challenge for Cricut 360. I hope you all join us for some fun challenges, great projects and prizes! Yeah who doesn't like prizes! Our first challenge is to make an invitation and use the cuttlebug if possible. It can be an invitation to anything so mine is going to be for a pool party. Since I live in the sunny state of Florida there is lots of hot sunny pool time weather. We have one in our back yard so it gets used alot especially lately as it is generally about 97 degrees (with humidity I would say over 100!)

I'm cutting images on my new cricut expression 2 and from "pack your bags" cartridge. This is one of my favorite cartridges. I love to travel, I love tropical items so this cartridge is in my top 5.

Card size: 5 1/2" x 6"
Used 1/2" corner chomper on bottom
Paper used is Recollections Kraft paper
Pattern Paper is Fancy Pants 6x6 beach babe paper stack
Teal ribbon from Michaels
Glossy accents on the goggles
Glossy accents in the circles of the pool to add some glistening like water
